The Young Performers Camp (YPC) is a FULL-DAY PROGRAM with the perfect blend of creativity, education, and pure fun, providing an unforgettable summer for young artists.
Unleash your child's inner star as they go on a journey of self-discovery through the world of musical theatre! YPC is designed to nurture and develop their talents, whether they're a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time. Our experienced instructors bring a wealth of knowledge from the world of professional theatre.
From vocal coaching to choreography, every aspect of camp is crafted to enhance your child's skills and boost their confidence.

Before care: $50 (8am - 9am)
After care: $100 (4pm - 6pm) -
Sessions run for one (1) week each, with a different show presented every session.
The highlight of our summer musical theatre camps is the final performance for family and friendson the last day of camp! Witness the transformation of your child as they take the stage with confidence, showcasing their newfound skills.
The final performance will be held at Beaverton Town Hall (397 Simcoe Street) at 6:00pm.

Essential Supplies:
Remember to bring water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Pack pencils, a notebook, and highlighters.
Footwear and Attire:
Indoor running shoes or jazz shoes are the only accepted footwear in the studio/theatre.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement - large logos.
Lunch Requirements:
Campers are required to bring their own peanut-free lunch each day.

YOUTH SUMMER INTENSIVE (YSI)

The YOUTH SUMMER INTENSIVE (YSI) is an audition-based program designed for young performers ages 10–15 who are ready to deepen their musical theatre training in a fast-paced, supportive, and collaborative environment. Students will immerse themselves in a musical through focused group rehearsals and guided performance training.
Led by experienced instructors, students will develop their skills in acting, singing, and movement while exploring age-appropriate themes such as friendship, confidence, teamwork, resilience, and self-expression.
The program culminates in a fully staged musical production, giving students the opportunity to showcase their growth.

Designed for passionate singers, actors, and dancers, this program is the perfect opportunity for young performers ages 10-15 to expand their skills and work at a fast-paced, professional level. This audition-only program immerses participants in a short intensive rehearsal process with industry professionals, where they will refine their skills in acting, singing, and movement while preparing for a live performance.

All cast members must be off-book for all dialogue prior to the first rehearsal.
Harmonies will be taught, but solo vocal lines/songs must be fully prepared individually in advance.
Attendance is required for all rehearsals and performances.
This intensive program requires commitment, focus, and dedication.

At First Act Youth Company, we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported. We believe that talent and passion come in many forms, and we encourage people of all backgrounds and identities to audition for our programs.
Auditions will be held on Friday, March 27th & Saturday, March 28th.
REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2) musical theatre songs contrasting in style, range or tempo. Please prepare both songs in their entirety as well as 32-bar cuts for each.
No monologue is required for this audition, but we ask that you showcase a range of acting and character through your vocal performances.
There will be a group dance call, so please bring a change of clothes that you can move in.
No a cappella auditions or backing tracks will be permitted. Please bring your sheet music double-sided and in a binder for the accompanist.
Please bring a hard copy of your resume and headshot (or recent photo) stapled together for the panel.
Plan to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out your audition form and prepare.

Includes rehearsal materials, sets and costumes, professional show photos, and an archival recording of the production.

They will prepare for a compelling, fully staged production to wrap up an unforgettable summer!

All applicants applying by video must still complete the audition application below. Please note: a Zoom interview will be required for those auditioning by video.
Video auditions are accepted for those in a college or university program.
WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY
All cast members of the Advanced Summer Intensive (ASI) have the unique opportunity to participate in 2 industry-led workshops, providing valuable insights into the world of the show, along with skill-building in character development and content research, helping students bring their roles to life with depth and authenticity.
JACOB FOWLER
Jacob trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, graduating with a 1st Class degree.
In 2020, with his band Since September, Jacob won the prime-time BBC One show, ‘Little Mix: The Search’. The band subsequently went on to support the girl-group on their 2022 arena tour, including 3-nights at the prestigious O2 Arena in London.
Jacob has had an extensive career in musical theatre, most prominently as JD in the UK & Ireland tour of HEATHERS THE MUSICAL giving him the accolade of playing JD more times than anyone worldwide. Most recently he was seen playing Lucas Beineke in the UK tour of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, alongside Alexandra Burke and Lesley Joseph and is currently in INTO THE WOODS at The Bridge Theatre in London, directed by Olivier Award nominee Jordan Fein.
Other credits include: Hunter in TITLE OF SHOW (Southwark Playhouse); Louis in COOL RIDER (London Palladium); Ben in BEFORE AFTER (Southwark Playhouse); Prince Topher in RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEINS CINDERELLA (Hope Mill Theatre); Bobby in DREAMBOATS AND PETTICOATS: BRINGING ON BACK THE GOOD TIMES (UK Tour); JD in HEATHERS (The Other Palace); Mohr in VANARA (Hackney Empire), KINGS OF BROADWAY (Palace Theatre, London), Hunter in IN PIECES (Turbine Theatre).
He has performed solo-shows both in London and New York, as well as singing in international concerts for Disney in Athens and Cyprus.
JADE MCLEOD
Most known for their critically acclaimed run as Jo in the Broadway National Tour of Jagged Little Pill, Jade McLeod is a New York-based performer, writer, teacher, and activist.
Other credits include Elsa in Frozen (The Globe), Annas in Jesus Christ Superstar (Drayton), and Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Stage West). They originally hail from Pickering, Ontario, and are a proud graduate of St Clair College.
