For students with a genuine passion for performing and a strong work ethic. This program is designed for students who are willing to learn, listen, participate, take direction and push themselves creatively.
Spaces are limited. Only 12 students will be accepted to ensure every participant receives meaningful one-on-one time, individual feedback and the most out of every lab.
Our 4-Day Performing Arts Intensive is designed for young performers who are looking to build skills, gain industry experience, strengthen their audition tools and challenge themselves creatively.
Across four days, working with industry professionals, students will participate in 8 focused half-day labs covering performance, acting, singing, dance, audition technique, industry preparation and creative development. Each lab is designed to provide practical, hands-on training with a focus on individual growth and skill building.
There is no final performance for this program. Instead, students will leave with new skills, professional materials and several completed projects they can continue to use beyond the intensive.
Auditions: Sunday, October 18, 2026
This March Break, take your performing arts training to the next level.

01 — VOICE ACTING
Explore the world of voice acting in a hands-on two-hour workshop. Students will learn how voice acting differs from traditional stage performance and explore character voice, vocal choices, diction, expression, timing and working from a script.
Students will then put their skills into practice by recording a short character-based voice acting exercise.
Take home: A recording of your voice acting exercise.
02 — THE INDUSTRY
Get your professional materials in order.
Each student will have the opportunity to participate in a professional headshot session, receiving up to 20 images to choose from. Students will select their favourite image to be professionally edited as their new headshot.
Following the photo session, students will learn the basics of creating and maintaining a professional performance resume and organizing an audition binder.
Every student will leave with a fully formatted performance resume and a new professional headshot.
Take home: Professional headshot + formatted performance resume.
03 — MUSIC THEORY & CHORAL SINGING
Build your musical knowledge while developing stronger ensemble skills.
Students will work through the fundamentals of music theory before applying those skills to a choral piece. The focus will be on harmony, musicality, listening, blend and working together as an ensemble.
The lab will conclude with a recording of the finished choral piece.
Take home: A recording of the completed choral number.
04 — CHOREOGRAPHY CREATION
This dance-focused lab puts the creative process in the hands of the performers.
Students will explore choreography, sequencing, storytelling through movement and how to create movement that supports music and character.
Working in small groups and guided by an industry professional, students will create their own original choreography and teach their sequence to the rest of the group.
05 — CHARACTER WORK, IMPROVISATION & COLD READS
What happens when you walk into an audition and don't have the opportunity to rehearse?
This lab focuses on acting in the audition room. Students will begin with improvisation exercises before moving into cold read work — performing scripted material without having the opportunity to rehearse or memorize it beforehand.
Students will learn how to make strong character choices, stay connected to a scene, work with a reader, make natural choices with unfamiliar material and perform confidently without over-rehearsing.
06 — SELF-TAPES & ACTING FOR FILM/TV
Stage acting and acting for the camera require different approaches.
Before the intensive, students will be provided with a short monologue that they will be expected to have memorized. During this lab, students will work with an industry professional to explore the differences between stage and screen performance.
The workshop will also cover the practical side of self-tapes, including introductions, framing, lighting, pacing and editing.
Students will finish by recording their own self-taped scene.
Take home: A completed self-taped scene.
07 — DUETS
Students will be assigned a duet song before the intensive begins.
During this lab, students will rotate through focused coaching in music, characterization, collaboration and performance. Working with a teaching artist, each pair will also develop blocking and staging that supports the story and enhances their performance.
The goal is to take a duet beyond simply singing the notes and create a fully developed performance between two characters.
08 — THE SURPRISE LAB
This one is up to you.
During auditions, we'll ask students what they would love to learn or explore during the intensive.
Maybe it's musical theatre improv. Maybe it's a dance call, songwriting, script writing, cheer, stage combat or something completely different.
Once we've heard from our students, we'll choose a common interest and build our final lab around it.
You tell us what you want to learn. We'll build the lab.
